PREFACE OF THE S I S newlineThere are certain regions in India where it is observed that there are newlinenumerous engineers who are good at their technical skills but are not well newlineversed in communication skills, especially in oral communication skills. newlineSaurashtra is one of those regions in Gujarat - India where many engineers newlinelack effective oral communication skills which play the supreme role in newlinetheir professional and personal life. Though oral communication is one of newlinethe most important aspects of communication skills, it has not taken place newlinesincerely. This research has been undertaken by the researcher (assistant newlineprofessor) who has worked with Marwadi Education Foundation s Group of newlineInstitutions, Rajkot (Saurashtra Region) and Babaria Institute of newlineTechnology, Baroda. This research canvasses the need of effective oral newlinecommunication skills for engineering students of Saurashtra by giving the newlineclear clue of the concept Effective Oral Communication Skills . The newlineresearcher designed the package of multimedia activities and proved the newlineimportance of it to make oral communication skills effective. The researcher newlineselected three colleges of Saurashtra (Marwadi Education Foundation s newlineGroup of Institutions-Rajkot, Nobel Group of Engineering Institutions- newlineJunagadh and C.U. Shah College of Engineering and Technology- newlineSurendranagar.) Vast difference in the mark sheets of pre-test and post-test newlineof the subjects proved the effect of multimedia activities for effective oral newlinecommunication skills of engineering students of Saurashtra. newline
