The problems associated with the processing of synthetic fibre composites, disposing of the obsolete synthetic fibre reinforced composites and land fill regulations have forced the manufactures to develop eco friendly composites. Many automobile companies are trying to incorporate plant based composites in their future vehicles to increase the fuel efficiency and minimise the problems associated with the disposal of the obsolete composite products. newlineAs the strength of the natural fibre reinforced composites are lower, to meet the engineering requirement they are hybridised with synthetic fibres. The hybridisation of natural fibres with synthetic fibres reduces the quatum of synthetic fibre required to fabricate the composite structure. newlineAlthough works related to carbon, E-glass interplay composites could be found in the literature, research related to Carbon + E-glass intraplies have not been much reported. It has been reported in the literature that intraply composites have better energy absorption capability due to the interlocking effect. It has also been reported that the incorporation of plant based fibres increases the load bearing characteristics due to the energy dissipation mechanism associated with it. newline
