According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (Fifth Edition), Social (Pragmatic) Communication Disorder (SPCD) is characterized by difficulties in the social use of communication and pragmatics. Individuals with SPCD struggle with social interaction, emotions, adjusting in communication based on the context, and many more. As per the statistics, SPCD is a specific diagnosis introduced by the American Psychiatric Association in 2013, and its exact prevalence is still unknown. The causes of SPCD are not fully comprehended; however, various factors contribute to its development such as genetic factors, environmental factors, developmental delays, etc. newlineThe early, objective diagnosis and appropriate support systems could be utilized to enhance social communication skills of individuals with SPCD. Traditional diagnostic methods rely on clinical observations, and parent or caregiver reports which consume time. The present screening and support systems are complex which restricts accurate support and treatment. Moreover, manual screening systems are subjective which results in inaccurate identification of the disorder. Therefore, automated, user-friendly, objective screening support systems are required for the accurate, reliable identification of the SPCD and its severity level. Additionally, technologically supported interventions could be utilized to enhance the impaired communication skills of individuals. newline
