Abstract

newline In developing countries including India, the progress toward newlineSustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) is considerably stagnated. Governments newlinestruggle deliberately to decrease overreliance on fossil fuels to achieve newlinesustainability in the power industry. Microgrids (MGs) are crucial for enabling newlinedecarbonized, adaptable, affordable, robust, and high-quality power supply. newlineDeveloping Renewable Energy Microgrids (REM) using local resources are newlineessential for achieving SDG7. MGs provide decentralized power solutions and newlineEnergy Management Systems (EMS), which balance generation to demand, newlineregulate frequency and voltage, and ensure system restraints are not violated. EMS newlinemonitors and controls power flow in MGs to certify that particular operational newlineintents (e.g., minimizing cost, maximizing reliability, increasing the quality of newlinesupply, etc.) are satisfied. This research aims to develop an optimal energy newlinemanagement model for MGs, incorporating renewable energy resources, storage newlinesystems, and loads, to ensure stable and economically effective operation for offgrid newlineand grid-tied modes.
