Natural calamities and unexpected disasters cause the structural members to newlineundergo failure and become unfit. One such critical condition that will reduce the newlinestrength and stiffness of structural members is exposure to elevated temperatures. newlineMembers are exposed to elevated temperatures during the fire, and materials are newlinedegraded at elevated temperatures. Precast members have been utilized in various newlineapplications in construction industries in recent days because of their structural newlineefficiency and quality control. Determining the effect of unexpected fire conditions on newlinethe performance of precast members is required to identify the member s behaviour and newlinefailure mode. Research is needed to provide the necessary safety measures for precast newlinemembers to prevent collapse during fire. newlineBeing the widely utilized precast slab of prestressed concrete typically used newlinein the construction of flooring systems, the present study focused on precast prestressed newlinehollow core slabs. Interactions between thermal expansion, stress level, and behaviour newlineat elevated temperatures, and the resulting consequences for prestressed hollow core newlineslab are not well known. Hence, the present study is specifically focused on newlineinvestigating the structural performance of prestressed hollow core slab exposed to newlineelevated temperatures. newlineFrom this investigation, it is expected to identify failure mechanisms that newlinecontrol the behaviour of hollow core slab at elevated temperatures. Also, the significant newlineparameters affecting the thermal response of the slab will be identified. The present newlinework is further extended by investigating the consequences of exposure to elevated newlinetemperatures in realistic precast hollow core slabs during the post-heating periods newline
