Nanofluid Rotary Union Augmented Thermo Fluid Transport in Solar Collectors

Abstract

The presented work in this thesis primarily focuses on the thermal heat transport newlineinvestigation of two different kinds of solar collectors, viz., flat plate solar collector newline(FPSC) and parabolic trough collector (PTC). An active efficiency intensification newlinetechnique has been utilised in a rotating receiver tube novel PTC in which receiver tube newlinerotation has been adopted as an active technique. Further, a detailed study on the newlinepreparation and characterisation of nanofluid (NF) has been performed, which is newlineutilised as a passive efficiency intensification technique to assess the enhancement in newlinethe thermal performance of a FPSC. The modified heat transfer fluid (HTF), i.e., NF, is newlineutilised as a passive technique. Besides, based on this passive method, a numerical newlineinvestigation on NF-augmented PTC is studied for high mass flow rate and the thermohydraulic performance of the parabolic trough collector has been discussed in detail newline
