Abstract
The present study entitled Challenges and Issues in Cloud Computing of Health Science Libraries: A Feasible Platform in Medical Colleges of Rajasthan was carried out for the 20 institute of medical and health science education in Rajasthan state. Questionnaire method was used to carry out this study.
newlineThe major findings of the study noticed that 80.85% library professionals and 81.94% library users have awareness of cloud computing, very few library professionals and users have awareness of service and deployed models of cloud computing. The major advantages of cloud computing are cost saving, ubiquities, scalability, storage, easy in use, paperless environment, multi-user can access, reliability and security. Most of the library professionals and library users used cloud- based services of Google.
newlineThe study has also noted that library professionals and library users used cloud- based storage of Google Drive and Dropbox. Most of the library professionals have trust in cloud computing and no experience of data lost in cloud computing. 90.54% of library users satisfied with cloud based library services and the majority thought that cloud based services easy to use. It is suggested that all library professionals should adopt cloud computing and implements it in library services. Besides, following recommendations are made for the present study:
newlineThe employees of libraries and information centers are required to attend training sessions, seminars, and conferences to learn about recent advancements in cloud computing and how they might be implemented in their respective institutions. The information center and libraries need to devise means by which individuals may collaborate and organize themselves into groups to use cloud computing. In addition, they will need to develop protocols, regulations, and standards for cloud computing.
