This thesis presents an innovative approach to addressing the challenges of latency newlineand packet delivery in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) through the integration of newlineopportunistic routing and Wide-Band routing techniques. By leveraging the broadcast newlinenature of wireless networks and considering node power in path routing, this research newlineaims to mitigate the impact of unreliable wireless connections and optimize end-toend latency and packet delivery ratios. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the newlinesignificance of geospatial information in sensor networks, proposing the newlineimplementation of a Distance Vector Hop (DV-Hop) algorithm to significantly reduce newlinelocalization errors in scenarios with sparse anchor nodes. This approach not only newlineenhances the accuracy of sensor node localization without the need for GPS but also newlinecontributes to the development of location-aware sensor networks. newlineAdditionally, the thesis addresses the energy efficiency challenges inherent in WSNs, newlineparticularly the issue of energy consumption disparities among cluster leaders and newlinemember nodes. By proposing a spatially aware selection process for cluster leaders newlineand introducing a hybrid data transmission strategy that combines direct and multihop newlinecommunications, this work aims to extend the operational lifespan of sensor newlinenetworks. Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method over newlineexisting protocols such as the stable election protocol and the improved thresholdsensitive stable election protocol, highlighting its effectiveness in prolonging network newlinefunctionality. This research contributes valuable insights and methodologies for newlineenhancing the performance and sustainability of wireless sensor networks, with newlineimplications for real-world applications where accurate localization and energy newlineefficiency are critical newline
