Augmented Reality Learning Environments for Early Childhood

Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR) is an upcoming technology which augments computer newlinegenerated digital data over real world. The user can see and actively interact with newlinethe virtual data in real-time. There have been a lot of advancements in the field of newlineAR from research and development to availability of Augmented Reality newline(AR)/Virtual Reality (VR) hardware devices to the customers. Portable and newlineadvanced hardware equipment have evolved with better graphics, affordable size newlineand accurate registration leading to increasing acceptance of AR technology by the newlineusers. AR is being used in almost every field including engineering, entertainment newlineand education. However, there are certain AR user experiences and usability issues newlinewhich need to resolved to make this technology widely acceptable by all kinds of newlineusers. Development of AR applications requires different design and development newlineconsiderations than traditional desktop applications. Unlike existing desktop newlineteaching applications, mobile based AR applications face different issues. Existing newlineAR studies discuss the technology, cognition, performance or hardware devices but newlinelack the research about usability principles and user convenience. newline
