The aim of this study is to detect and compare the levels of Receptors of

newlineMATERIALS AND METHODS:
newlineA cross-sectional study was conducted among 49 patients, who
newlinewere divided into 3 groups with 16 patients per group of Hyperkeratosis
newlinewith Epithelial dysplasia and 16 of Oral Submucous Fibrosis and 17 Well
newlineDifferentiated Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Group I included tissue
newlinesamples from Well Differentiated Squamous Cell Carcinoma, group II Oral

newlineSubmucous Fibrosis at various stages, and group III Hyperkeratosis with
newlineEpithelial Dysplasia at various stages. The protocol of the study was
newlineapproved by the Scientific Review Board and it conforms to the
newlineprovisions of the declaration of Helsinki.
newlineTissue samples were then obtained from the study subjects.
newlineFollowing which the tissue was subjected to homogenization and
newlinecentrifugation. The supernatant was collected and subjected to ELISA
newlineanalysis to detect the concentration of RAGE.
newlineRESULTS:
newlineIn our study we have observed that the concentration of RAGEs was
newlinefound to be more at various stages of OSMF (plt0.05), which was considered
newlinestatistically significant.
