dc.description.abstractnewline A nutrition-agriculture linkage is a collection of relationships that indicate the newlineinterdependence of nutrition, health, and agriculture. Nutrition- agriculture refers to newlineagricultural interventions that are intended to nutritional improvements. Over the last few newlinedecades, increased agricultural productivity and food production have contributed newlinesignificantly in global hunger reduction. The specific objectives of the study were to assess newlinethe agricultural production diversity among the farmers and the role of women in the newlinediversity of agricultural production, to assess the influence of agricultural production newlinediversity on nutritional diversity of small and marginal farmers, to study the consumption newlinepattern and dietary diversity among the small and marginal farmers and to identify the newlinepathways through which agriculture can influence better nutritional outcomes. newlineThe multistage random sampling technique was used for the selection of samples. newlineKanyakumari and Perambalur districts were purposively selected based on Tamil Nadu newlinestate planning commission report 2017. By using random sampling method, the total newlinesample size was 480 which constitute 240 farmers from Kanyakumari and 240 farmers newlinefrom Perambalur districts. The current study is concerned with the food consumption newlineanalysis, 7 days recall period of food quantity consumed per households were recorded to newlineexamine the consumption pattern of the marginal and small farmers households. newlinePoisson regression model was used to calculate the impact of agricultural newlineproduction diversity on farmer dietary diversity and the role of women in agricultural newlineproduction diversity. Crop diversification index and Simpson Index of Dietary Diversity newlinewas used to assess the influence of agricultural production diversity on nutritional newlinediversity. Tobit model was used to study the influence of agriculture production newlinediversification and multiple linear regression models were used to understand further newlinevariation in diversity across different groups of households and
