Vehicular communications play a vital role in intelligent transportation system. newlineIt will lead to no collision, low traffic congestion, reduced fuel and energy newlineconsumption transportation system. Internet of Vehicles (IoV) emerges from the newlineconcept of integrating Internet of Things (IoT) with connected vehicles. For newlinecommunications in vehicular networks, the usage of 5G and millimeter-waves will newlineimprove the capacity, data rates and reliability. The success of both IoT and 5G newlinedevices will rely on the performance of radio frequency. To meet the demands of IoT newlineand 5G applications, more antennas with lower costs, increased performance and newlinesmaller form factors are required. This study presents two novel designs of micro-strip newlineantennas for GPS, LTE and aeronautical applications and for 5G frequency bands to newlinefacilitate vehicular communications for various scenarios. newlineA triple band Coplanar Waveguide fed monopole antenna operating at newline1.56GHz (GPS), 2.4GHz (LTE) and 4.2GHz (aeronautical) is proposed. An offset fed newlineprinted dipole antenna is proposed for 5G based vehicular communications in IoV newlineapplications. The conformal models for various center bending angles of the proposed newlineprinted dipole antenna are developed and analyzed to embed the antenna in different newlinecurved surfaces on a vehicular body. Further, two element collinear MIMO antenna is developed from the proposed single element. ANSYS HFSS and CST electromagnetic tools are used to design and simulate the proposed antennas, conformal models and MIMO antenna. To validate the proposed design for vehicular communications, 5G model and MIMO antenna are simulated in the virtual environment of vehicular body using ANSYS SAVANT tool. newlineThe simulated antenna performance is in good agreement to support 5G based newlinevehicular communications. newline newline
