Abstract

This study attempts to analyse the levels of OD interventions in public newlineorganisations that render service to the public. In the perspective of the employees, newlinethis study focuses on OD intervention of the Tuticorin Port Trust, a public sector newlineorganisation of the Government of India. Besides, this research in the employees newlineperspectives observes the factors influencing resistance towards organisational change newlineand the measures that need to be taken by the management to overcome such newlineresistance. newlineThis research is a significant one towards the contribution of exposing the newlinerealities in OD interventions in the corporation companies like the Tuticorin Port newlineTrust. The study attempts to disclose the levels of OD interventions in Tuticorin newlinePort Trust which was perceived by its employees who work in Class I, Class II, newlineClass III and Class IV categories. The overall aim of this research is to analyse the newlineOD interventions adopted in Tuticorin Port Trust and its impacts on the employees. newlineBy employing stratified Proportionate Simple Random Sampling, 300 employees newlinefrom class I, class II, class III and class IV categories were fixed as total samples. newlineQuestionnaire was used to collect the data from 300 employees. newlineThe research outcomes reveal that the Tuticorin Port Trust has newlineadministered OD interventions to a moderate extent. The mean differences of newlineteam building and intergroup relations interventions significantly higher than newlinesensitivity training, survey feedback and process consultation. Further, the newlineimpacts of OD interventions are also at moderate levels. Since the Port Trust has newlineadopted multiple interventions, the impacts of OD intervention resulted at newlinemoderate levels otherwise it might be at low levels. newline
