Abstract
The aim of this study was to assess the hepatoprotective effect of Solanum nigrum plant leaves on the liver of Albino Rats induced with the toxin CCl4. For such, the comparative analysis of the phytochemicals, both qualitatively and quantitatively was carried out by analysing the leaves of Solanum nigrum plants collected from the Berasia locality of Bhopal using Petroleum ether, Ethyl acetate and Methanol solvents for extraction with increasing order of polarity. Finally, the hepatoprotective efficacy of Ethyl acetate and Methanolic extracts was carried out in vivo by studying their effect on liver marker enzymes, oxidative stress markers and histopathological study of the liver tissues of Albino rats.
