Abstract

Medical implants are artificial structures or parts that replace a portion of the biological structure of the human body. Today, such medical implants can be utilised in newlineorthopaedics, cardiovascular stents, pacemakers, defibrillators, brain prostheses, dentistry, or drug delivery systems to restore the normal functionality of various human newlinebody parts. However, they face several challenges regarding biocompatibility, bioinertness, and functionality. To this end, forsterite and forsterite based composite have newlinebeen envisioned to address such issues in medical implants. To complement the existing biomaterials, dielectric properties have recently emerged as a potential solution newlineto overcome the existing challenges. Therefore, this thesis aims to comprehensively newlineinvestigate the dielectric performance of forsterite and forsterite based composites for newlinemedical implant applications newline
