The major objectives of the research were to conduct survey on the biodiversity richness, analysis on the health status of free ranging herbivores, access the wetland health by water and soil quality analysis and prepare strategy for wetland health management, to strengthen wildlife conservation in this area. newlineThe study methods involved multistage random sampling of the study area for collection of necessary facts, ad-libitum sampling, data collection from primary and secondary resources, body condition evaluation and analysis of water samples and soil samples. newlineWetland harbored numerous species of wild mammals, reptiles, birds and fishes which are directly or indirectly dependent upon. 21 species of mammals, biodiversity showed 13 species of reptiles and 29 fish species were reported newline A total of 71 species of wetland birds was noticed. Seventeen (17) families and seven (7) orders were recorded from six wetlands of Narmada Valley. Ciconiiformes (20) was the largest order having three families i.e. Ardeidae, Ciconiidae and Threskiornithidae followed by Coraciiformes and Anseriformes. Similarly, Ardeidae was the largest family of birds i.e. 17 species found in the different lakes followed by 14 species from Anatidae and 13 species from Motacillidae and only one species from five families i.e. Podicipedidae, Rostratulidae Recurvirostridae, Burhinidae, Glareolidae and Laridae.
