There were altogether Fifty Five (55) Nayakas and Fifty Two (52) Seeme s during the rule of Krishnadevaraya. Influential Nayakas received more than one Seeme as Nayakatana, few were awarded Nayakatana for a short time, while in certain cases an individual s Nayakatana was annulled and there were frequent transfer of Nayakas in addition to these developments. Hence there is difference between number of Nayakas and number of Seeme s.
