Abstract

The quality of male and female is like the two sides of a coin, and this combination makes the creation alive. Every civilization has praised the inanimate things like the country, the river, etc in the name of women. But the real women are not treated well all over the world. Whenever a question of supremacy arises before the society, it turns to be a male-chauvinistic one. In many revolutions and revolts with the cry for equality, the term equality meant the equality only for men. Thus men look down upon women for the ages. Women were kept in control under the rules of tradition, framed by men. In course of time, women forgot their self , never protested and accepted the treatment of men. They did not ask for their place in the creation. It was centuries till the world of women had a dawn which was in the West. They started to realize their present state and the emancipation of women surprised the androcentric society. Women started to come out of the darkness through the light of education which illuminated their mind and soul. Today they have emerged in all walks of life, equal to men. Their majestic walk continues in spite of the hue and cry of men. Still there are many oppositions and obstacles in all parts of this present society. The women faced different problems in the working environments. Whether the woman is a scientist, a technologist, a bureaucrat, a lawyer, a novelist earning money equal to men, they are forced to do the household works and also their duties as a member of the family. Still there are many people, who consider female child as a burden. But the women have realized their power and they are proving it despite the hurdles on the way. newline
