Abstract

Design of filters for wireless communication systems has attracted increasing interest during last years. In the last decade, the number of wireless communications standards has rapidly increased, due to the miniaturization and cost reduction of wireless terminals as well as the spread of novel services very attractive for the users. In addition to analog and digital cellular-based services, broadband technologies such as third generation cellular and Ultra Wide Band (UWB) systems, as well as wireless LAN standards and Bluetooth technology, have emerged. newlineUWB filter is the front end component of a typical UWB transceiver. In an RF transceiver, the front end RF Filter selects the frequency range of signals for transmitting through antenna, after it is processed in the Modulator stage. Similarly, it receives RF signals from the antenna and then sends to demodulator stage for further processing. newlineThese UWB filters need to have very low insertion loss to ensure it passes maximum of the signals received from antenna to succeeding newline
