Abstract
A Wireless Sensor Network WSN is a distributed network naturally comprises of an enormous number of spatially spread pint sized and battery operated embedded devices that are networked to collect process and convey data to the users with limited computing and processing capabilities Nowadays Wireless Sensor Network is the hottest services used in industrial and commercial applications as a result of its technical advancement in processor communication and usage of low power embedded computing devices In numerous real time applications the sensor nodes are performing different tasks like neighbor node discovery shrewd sensing data storage and processing, data aggregation target pursuing control and monitoring node localization, synchronization and efficient routing between various nodes and base station Broadcasting is a fundamental communication technique widely used in many ad hoc network protocols to transmit the messages over the network in an efficient manner The simplest broadcasting algorithm is flooding in which every node broadcasts the message when it receives it for the first time But while using flooding technique the broadcast redundancy will be significantly increased when the average number of nodes in a network increases. High broadcast redundancy can result in high power and bandwidth consumption in the network. Moreover, it increases packet collisions
