Employee engagement is a word which is being heard from the past few years and as such, it seems to be a topic of discussion in the present corporate circle. However, twenty years ago when the term first appeared in an academic magazine in 1990 it was never a point of discussion and before that, back then in 70 s and 80s, HR mainly concentrated on employee s pride and satisfaction. But it had no connection between organization s and employee overall productivity. An overview of recent articles simplifies on why this topic called employee engagement is important in the current business space. Before 1980 s employers considered loyalty and dedication of employees as a key strength for organization development and used to provide employment and consider them for a permanent role and responsibility. newlineThe momentum for creating a better employee experience in an organization has created companies to understand the core competences of both their employees newlineand employers. Despite all the attempts in creating a better working space with attractive packages and benefits, pinnacle performers tend to switch between organizations without any obvious reasons. Apart from creating a better working space, organizations should focus on being authentic and should constantly evolve according to change in the business world and buying behavior of their customers and quickly react to the change in the global market trends. This kind of quick analysis and evolution creates trust among employees on their organizations as they are reacting to the change in the markets. newlineIf organizations focus on creating a better employee experience, employees will focus on creating a better customer experience and by creating greater value for their product or service in the market space. newline
