dc.description.abstractnewline Smart farming is seen to be the future of agriculture as it produces higher quality of crops by making farms more intelligent in sensing its controlling parameters. Analyzing massive amount of data can be done by accessing and connecting various devices with the help of Internet of Things (IoT) to growing crops with the potential of saving labor and resources, more fine-grained control in watering and fertilization, and more accurate gathering of information about planting environment. Nowadays, Internet of Things (IoT) is expected to reach phenomenal levels of diverse adoption, deployment amongst multiple sectors and provides solutions for optimizing productions efficiently. But security is main concern in IoT due to its resource-constrained IoT devices. Blockchain technology has been introduced for various Internet of Things (IoT) applications with the purpose of improving their security. However, there are a number of barriers before blockchain can be fully adopted for IoT. One of these barriers is the complex consensus algorithms that require a lot of computational power. Furthermore, existing algorithms also have scalability issues. The focus of the project will be designing an efficient framework that can be supported by resource constrained IoT devices in Smart Agriculture with less complex Blockchain algorithms as security. The special characteristics of Blockchain technology introduces a new domain of IoT secure configuration and decentralized management with less transaction latency by adopting the lightweight key generation algorithms, while taking into consideration the challenging constraints imposed by IoT devices efficient and low-power design. newlineThis research work implemented a framework for automated smart farming intelligence using supervised Machine Learning algorithms.
