The effect of caste-based prejudice on the lives of Dalit children is one of the major issues that emerges from the literature. Children from marginalized communities have distinctive experiences and viewpoints, and the study of marginalized childhood is a crucial area of research that highlights these aspects. According to the literature, discrimination is a possibility inside the educational system. Numerous difficulties and disadvantages, such as acute poverty and social exclusion, affect Dalit children daily. They frequently lack access to resources and opportunities other kids take for granted. Their general well-being and development may suffer from a lack of access to quality healthcare, clean water, or adequate schools, all of which are essential. Because of the prejudice they encounter, they suffer from emotional and psychological stress. They could internalize emotions of worthlessness, inadequacy, and self-doubt, which could be harmful to their mental health and general well-being. Children from Dalit communities are more vulnerable to the negative effects of marginalization and discrimination. As an illustration, trauma and psychological anguish can be exacerbated by experiences of bullying, abuse, and violence. Children from Dalit backgrounds may also feel hopeless and depressed, resulting in depression and anxiety. The emotional well-being of Dalit children can be significantly impacted by marginalization. Children subjected to prejudice and marginalization frequently feel shame and guilt, leading to low self-worth and inadequate issues. Through their work, Dalits challenge the prevailing cultural narrative and fight the marginalization and prejudice they experience. The importance of community and solidarity in empowering and assisting Dalit children is often highlighted in Dalit writing.
