| dc.description.abstract | Wireless Sensor Network consists of sensors as nodes and the nodes are deployed randomly newlinebased on the deployment region to monitor the physical and environmental conditions in real newlinetime. The WSN provides a gateway for wireless connectivity through the sensor nodes. newlineEvery sensor in the network has its own coverage area and they acquire the information newlinecoming from their coverage area. The WSN encapsulates the number of base stations (BS) newlineand sensor nodes. The information from the WSN region is captured by the nodes and then newlinetransferred to BS for further processing. In the WSN, the coverage area is a one of the most newlineimportant Quality of Service (QoS) provided by the sensors in the WSN region. The failure newlineof any sensor node in the region creates a coverage hole. The coverage holes may occur due newlineto several causes such as power failure at the sensor node, node destruction, unusual newlinemovements of sensors node and any other technical failure. newlineIn this work, two novel protocols have been proposed for the detection and recovery of the newlinenodes from the coverage hole. The proposed protocols used the opportunistic routing method newlinefor the data routing. Out of these two, one is MSCOLER (Mobile Sink based Coverage newlineOptimization and Link-stability Estimation Routing) based on Grid network and other is newlineSOCGO (Self-Organizing Cluster based Greedy Opportunistic routing), which is cluster newlinebased network. newlineThe MSCOLER protocol has been proposed for Optimal Coverage restoration and to newlineestimate the stability of the link. MSCOLER first identifies the unused nodes in the network newlineand then allocates the unused node to the hole. In this way, the network lifetime can be newlineenhanced by relay node identification and link stability. The MSCOLER protocol will use the newlineIV newlineGFSA (Grid based Firefly Simulated Annealing) algorithm, which is a blend of Firefly newlinealgorithm and Simulated Annealing algorithm. | |
