Public auditing scheme for ensuring integrity and privacy of outsourced data in the cloud

Abstract

Cloud storage service provides a way for the users to outsource their newlinedata to the cloud servers. It gives users a flexible way to access the data that newlineare outsourced remotely via the internet. Cloud users are able to manage their newlinedata without deploying and maintaining storage servers and devices in the newlinelocal system. This new generation of technology helps the users to reduce newlineCapital (CapEx) and Operational Expenditure (OpEx) to a certain extent. This newlineparadigm brings new security challenges related to the integrity, availability, newlineprivacy and confidentiality of data.Data integrity and confidentiality are the two most important securityconcerns over the unreliable cloud service provider. However, the newlinemanagement of data and services by cloud service providers may not be fully newlinetrusted by the industries/users. While integrity of data checks whether the data newlinestored in cloud server remains intact, confidentiality of data ensures whether newlinethe stored data is secure and not disclosed to anyone.In this thesis an approach for ensuring the integrity of the data in Cloud Storage Server is proposed to strengthen the trust of cloud service provider,because cloud service provider might delete the rarely accessed file of users newlineor may try to hide the data loss incidents to maintain their reputation and newlineclaim that there is no data loss.
