dc.description.abstractComposites are preferred owing to their improved and tailor made properties in order to meet the specific industrial needs. Composites branches its application in all the fields include automotive, aerospace, defence, and marine. Copper composites most preferred due to their enhanced properties like better mechanical, electrical, thermal and wear properties. Through the powder metallurgy, hybrid copper composite reinforced with the 5 weight percentage of alumina and with different weight percentages of graphite namely 0, 2.5 and 5. Further the metallurgical behaviour of the produced composites were analysed through the X-ray diffraction analysis, scanning electron microscopy along with energy dispersive spectroscopy. The results of the metallurgical analysis explored the presence and distribution of the reinforcements. The investigation on the workability behaviour of the produced hybrid copper composites were made and found in all the cases with 5 wt. % of graphite shows higher stress value namely axial stress, mean stress, hoop stress and effective stress. Further, the machinability behaviour of the synthesized composites was subjected to an electric discharge machining using the Taguchi s L27 orthogonal design array. newline
