A Study of Employability Soft Skills for Transition from the Campus to the Corporate with Special Reference to the Students in the South Region

Abstract

newlineAn attempt has been made to study the various employability skills necessary today in newlinethe corporate world. Simultaneously it was observed and analysed the different soft newlineskill sets the students have across the other streams of education in various colleges in newlineHyderabad. Some measures have been suggested to improve the quality of soft skills newlinein students. The employability skills analysed for this study will include PGDM/MBA newlinegraduates, engineering graduates, arts, commerce, pharm D students, design students, newlinemedical undergraduates and other university students in south India. The current newlineemployability skill status of respondents needs improvement. Being good at a skill newlinedoes not mean being competent in other skills or making the other skills easier. newlineTherefore, in the current scenario, any applicant who is good at multitasking can newlinewithstand and gain employment opportunities. Employability skills can be defined as newlinethe transferable skills needed by any individual to make them employable. With good newlinetechnical understanding and subject knowledge, employers often lay down a set of newlineskills they want from an employee. So, what then is Unemployable? It is an adjective, newlinemeaning a person cannot get paid employment because of a lack of specific skills or newlinequalifications. There are plenty of ways you can improve your employability. All it newlinetakes is initiative and the will to do it. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused employers newlineto postpone or cancel work experiences or internships. Because of the never-ending newlinepandemic and its variations, employers have had to find and are still finding new newlineways for students and fresh graduates to work, and an increasing number of newlineemployers now have virtual work procedures and systems in place, enabling students newlineand graduates to function well and get essential work experience from home.
