dc.description.abstractnewline This research demonstrates that Titanium alloy (Ti-5Al-2.5Sn) reinforced with Tungsten (W) exhibits favourable mechanical, fatigue life, and tribological properties at room temperature due to the presence of tungsten particles. Conversely, the strength of the composites is further augmented by the presence of W particles. This experiment utilised raw materials including Titanium (Ti), Aluminium (Al), Tin (Sn), and Tungsten (W), all with a purity level of 99.9%. This study utilised Ti-5Al-2.5Sn as the matrix material and W as the reinforcement, with concentrations of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 wt.%. The requisite amount of powder was blended using a planetary ball mill at a specified contact speed and for varied durations in an inert atmosphere. Following the amalgamation of the composite powders, they were placed in a die set assembly constructed from tool steel; a unique die set assembly with a diameter of 15 mm was developed for this study.
