| dc.description.abstract | The thesis entitled Synthesis and anti-cancer evaluation of 1,3,4-oxadiazole, 1,2,4-oxadiazole and and#946;-carboline derivatives is explained the synthesis of 1,3,4-oxadiazole, 1,2,4-oxadiazole and and#946;-carboline derivatives and evaluated for their anticancer activities against A549 (Lung cancer), MCF7 (Breast cancer), A375 (Melanoma cancer), HT-29 (Colon cancer), DU-145 (prostate cancer) and MDA MB-231 (breast cancer), Colo-205 (colon) and A2780 (ovarian) cell lines. newline newlineThe thesis is divided into seven chapters. newline newline In Chapter I Cancer is very dangerous disease with rapid growth and uncontrolled spreading of abnormal cells. It is very shocking news that 13% of deaths across the world are only due to the cancer disease. IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer) report declared that 14.1 million new cancer cases were registered in 2012 year. Out of these cases 8 million cases were registered from only average economy countries (developing countries) which having 82% of the world population. These cancer registries not include the non-melanoma skin cancers because these cancers not involved in the cancer registries according to the guidelines. 8.2 million cancer patients were expired in 2012 year that means 22,000 patients per day. Out of these, 5.3 million from middle economy countries and 2.9 million from high economy countries. By 2030, the new cancer registrations were reached up to 21.7 million and 13 million cancer patients were dead only due to the aging and enhancing of the world population. newline In Chapter II The anticancer activities of different 1,3,4-oxadiazole, 1,2,4-oxadiazole and and#946;-carboline derivatives were collected from literature survey and explained very well against a panel of human tumour cell lines. newline | |
