dc.description.abstractA nanocomposite material is a material made from two or more constituent materials with newlinesignificantly different properties when combined with different metal oxides. Lanthanide-doped newlinenanoparticles (La-NPs) are of interest in nanoscience because of their unique chemical and optical newlineproperties, including large effective Stokes shift, long luminescence lifetimes, narrow emission newlinebands and high photochemical stability. Additionally, their low toxicity and high detection newlinesensitivity make them a perfect candidate for biosensing and bioimaging applications as well as a newlinepromising alternative to well established bioprobes such as organic dyes or quantum dots. newlineCurrently, La-NPs are successfully implemented in bioassays, drug delivery, imaging of cells, newlinetissues and small animals. newline In this work two lanthanides selected namely erbium and neodymium supported on the silica newlineas nanocomposite material for different applications depending upon their varied composition and newlinenature of structure. Erbium or Neodymium doped with silica, both lanthanides, have showed newlinecatalytic activity. This is attributed to increase in surface active sites when irradiated with light newlineapart from the change in behavior of the doped silica due to size and morphology of the newlinenanocomposite material. This characteristic helps to improve the catalytic and biological activity newlineof the prepared nanocomposites. newlinePrepared nanocomposites were used for various industrially used applications to check their newlinecatalytic activity such as photocatalytic degradation of organic dyes, oxidation reaction of alcohol newlineand microbial study which is represented below information. .The major objective of this research newlinework is to explore the structural, morphological, catalytic and antimicrobial properties of the newlinesynthesized nanocomposites as catalysts. newline
