Abstract
Within the context of emerging technology in a varied cultural context of a global environment, there is a need to relook into the principles of technological integration. With the intention of measuring student preparedness, this research plans to evaluate various theories that exist in the field of technological integration within the bounds of educational classroom, especially media classroom. The students from communication/media classroom are in need of greater adaptability of technological tools for a successful career. Technological integration including social media tools have become part and parcel of everyday life, especially in Journalism classrooms. Within the reality of a global pandemic which is crippling the normal life of every citizen, technology has become much more essential and ubiquitous.
newlineThe deep analysis of current theories that evaluate technology adaptation, such as Technology acceptance model show a gap as pointed out by various researchers. The various studies undertaken in the field based on these theoretical assumptions point out the various socio, behavioural, personal, cultural and technological elements missed by these theories. These missing elements are pointed out in the research. This research looks into various parameters pointed out by these theories and adapts a comprehensive model of integration of technology (CMIT).
newlineThe constructs and variables are evolved based on evaluation of the theoretical
newlineframework. This new framework, which is evolved on the analysis of the field, was tested through various stages to ensure its validity and reliability. Following the steps of standardization, various research principles were applied to make the tool reliable. A pilot study was conducted in a private university among the post-graduate students of Media department to test the reliability of the tool. Based on the analysis, the tool was found to be valid and various assumptions as acceptable.
