Education through elearning a study of university students in Jammu Region J and K

Abstract

The present study explores the functioning of e-learning in formal education, focusing particularly on its impact on social relationships and cognitive practices among learners and other stakeholders. The study observes that the continuous development and proliferation of e-learning has altered the cognitive practices and interaction patterns among learners. Learners are now more reliant on online educational resources and MOOCs, which enable them to pursue a wide range of interests alongside their on-campus courses. E-learning has undoubtedly empowered learners by offering a decentralized learning experience and vast educational resources. However, there are various issues with e-learning, such as ineffective socialization and limited interaction, indicating its inefficiency in providing a fully functional alternative to traditional classroom education. Thus, e-learning, in association with on-campus classrooms as blended learning, could provide students with an enhanced educational experience. newline
