Abstract
The present study researches the impact of various factors that can affect Employee Engagement amongst the employees of the Information Technology sector in the National Capital Region. Employee Engagement was observed to be a multi-faceted construct which varies at the day-to-day level, especially in jobs that are dynamic and have high employee involvement. It has been proven to affect business results as well as internal organizational factors like job performance, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment. The empirical study endeavours to identify the characteristics that possibly affect engagement in employees and focuses on various dimensions and if these are tapped, the passion and rigour of employees can be enhanced.
newlineVarious antecedents were found to impact the concept of engagement and one of the most pervasive frameworks found in literature was Transformational Leadership and Emotional Intelligence. Their impact on Behavioural Engagement was worthy of study and hence this research was undertaken.
