Molecular characterization of methicillin resistant staphylooccus aureus isolates in Mumbai

Abstract

The present study was undertaken to characterize MRSA strains at the molecular level, which will help in finding out the genetic relatedness of the MRSA isolates by identification of primary clones spreading in the Indian subpopulation. The study will also be dealt in understanding the antibiotic susceptibility patterns, the different toxin genes harboured by these MRSA clones and thus help in establishing the necessary treatment approaches to combat drug resistance and gain insight on the toxins that play an inevitable role during infections. newline
