newlinecapability of FSIG based WF by (1) ANFIS-PI controller based coordinated control scheme and (2) the investigation of ES.
newlineMaterials and Methods: ANFIS-PI controller based coordinated control scheme of VS-PMSG based WF, takes advantage of the control capabilities of VS-PMSG based WF. Here, ANFIS-PI controller changes the controller parameters dynamically, in accordance with the change in power system parameters during a fault condition.
newlineES is an emerging smart grid technology which can compensate active and reactive power. Here, ES investigated the first time; specifically, for improving LVRT capability of FSIG based WF.
newlineResults and Discussion: Results of ANFIS-PI controller based coordinated control scheme shows that it improves the LVRT capability of FSIG based WF compared to the conventional PI controller based coordinated control scheme. This method seems to be a cost-effective alternative, as it need not have any additional installation of FACTS devices.
newlineInvestigation of ES shows that it able to improve LVRT capability of FSIG based WF. The ES seems to be a better option compared to the other FACTS devices, as it is simple in construction and requires less energy storage.
newlineConclusions: ANFIS-PI controller based coordinated control scheme of VSPMSG based WF, located in proximity of FSIG based WF is a promising option for improving LVRT capability of FSIG based WF. So, wherever it is possible to have an additional installation of VS-PMSG based WF with existing FSIG based WF, proposed ANFIS-PI controller based coordinated control scheme could be a cost effective solution. Instead, If it is not possible to have an additional installation of VS-PMSG based WF with existing FSIG based WF; ES could be a better option compared to other FACTS devices for improving LVRT capability of FSIG based WF.
