Abstract
Abstract
newlineThere is a scarcity in literature in providing strong evidence of a single ovarian reserve test for predicting
newlinediminished ovarian reserve in sub fertile women which creates the research gap. Combination of few
newlineovarian reserve parameters have been used for assessing and individualizing gonadotrophin dosage and
newlineprediction of response to ovarian stimulation. It is also extremely important to avoid ovarian
newlinehyperstimulation with exogenous gonadotrophins - a life threatening complication of ovarian stimulation
newlineduring assisted reproductive techniques. There is a need to strike a correct balance in predicting response
newlineto exogenous gonadotrophins so that hypo response resulting in cycle cancellation, reduced pregnancy
newlinerates, can be avoided. Pretreatment workup, measuring the right combination of ovarian reserve
newlineparameters have been tried over and again in literature. The set of ovarian markers which will correctly
newlinepredict ovarian function for Indian population is still being debated.
newlineThe need of the study can be summarized as: and#61623; Identification of couples with ovulatory factor of infertility
newlineand#61623; Predicts the reproductive potential of the woman with ovarian reserve tests and#61623; Identifies couple at risk
newlineof diminished ovarian response, thereby helps to counsel them: As there is poor response to gonadotropin
newlinestimulation and less chances of achieving pregnancy with ART. and#61623; Predicts hyper-responders and thus help
newlinein safe stimulation regimes to prevent OHSS without compromising pregnancy rate and#61623; Identifying predictive
newlinemodel by incorporating more than one ovarian reserve tests for detecting diminished ovarian reserve and
newlinefurther planning of stimulation protocol in the study population. and#61623; To reduce unnecessary burden of
newlinemultiple tests conducted thus reduce the financial stress on infertile women and#61623; To counsel the sub fertile
newlinewomen adequately for reduction of their psychological stress. and#61623;
