ix newlineABSTRACT newlineBackground: Approximately, 16 billion injections are administered per newlineyear globally. However, only 37% of these procedures are deemed safe. newlineUnsafe injection practices leave no one behind. Objectives: The objective newlineof the study was to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of health newlinecare providers and to determine correlation between research variables newlinetowards safe injection practices. Material and method: Descriptive newlineResearch Design- Survey method was used the present study. Non newlinerandomised purposive sampling technique was used to collect data from newlinethe sample. Samples were staff nurses who were associated with injection newlinepractices in different health facilities of Surat. Sample size was 360 and it newlinewas determination by using SPSS software version-17. Total 26 health newlinecare facilities including 1 Government, 14 urban health centres, 8 private newlinehospital and 3 trust hospitals were observed. The tools used for present newlinestudy were structured knowledge questionnaire with 30 items, 5-point newlineLikert attitude scale with 20 items and observation check list with 45 items newlineto assess safe injection practices.. Data analysis and interpretation was newlineplanned on the basis of objectives of the study using descriptive and newlineinferential statistics. Result: 45% HCP had good knowledge, whereas newlineonly 12.78%had average knowledge. Regards to attitude score, 64.38% newlineHCP had a favourable attitude where as 25.18% HCP had an newlineunfavourable attitude. With reference to injection skill, majority (90%) had newlineexcellent practice whereas very few 01 (00.28%) had average skill. newlineSpearman s correlation was computed to determine relation between newlineknowledge, attitude and practice variables. There was a moderately newlinepositive monotonic correlation between knowledge and attitude as the newlinevalue of Rho is 0.585 compare to practice - attitude and knowledge - newlinepractice where value of Rho was 0.245 and 0.388. this indicates that newlineknowledge score and attitude score are not totally independent. newlineConclusion: Majority of the HCP performed excellent practice although newlinekn
