Abstract
Acridine C13H9N is a planar heterocyclic aromatic molecule
newlinederived from anthracene by the replacement of one meso CH group by
newlinenitrogen Acridinediones the acridine derivatives having two keto functional
newlinegroups at the 1st and 8th positions are found to be good antimalarial agents
newlineAcridine18diones were also found to give fluorescence and laser activities around
newline480 nm and their fluorescence quantum yield and laser efficiency could be
newlinealtered by changing the substituents at the 9position and on the nitrogen
