Impact of Agro Based Industries on Socioeconomic Development in Raipur District Chhattishgarh INDIA

Abstract

Agro-based industries are these process industries that use massive quantities of agricultural raw materials cherish rice edge, wheat flower process, textiles, sugar, tea, jute, coffee, paper, rubber production etc. These agro-based industries give a superb nexus in promoting integrated development of agricultural and trade and in reworking a stagnant rural economy into a dynamic economy. Dependence on agricultural sector, significantly on crop cultivation has resulted in widespread state and underemployment within the country. The significant difference is found between rural and urban farmers in terms of socio-economic development. This is because of adoption of technology and science in livestock management as a driver of change in urban area. Urban agro-based industry dealing with livestock are updated in this regard which is not yet updated in rural industry. This is considered as the foremost reason behind the difference in socio-economic development between the rural and urban agro- based industry farmers. The result of this study suggests that a program that facilitates one-to-one support, moreover, credit access can have significant economic benefits in the long term. It is suggested that efforts should be made in creating awareness regarding agro-based industries, its functions, and benefits. The success of agro business depends upon the involvement and co-operations of the farmers. Agro-based industries prove to be a powerful tool for the socio-economic development of farmers, it provides a platform to the farmers to enhance their skills and to enhance their assets and resources. It is bringing changes in the socio- economic status of agro-based farmers and to improve their living standard.
