Abstract
Energy is the prime source and moreover an important aspect for a qualitative life. As
newlinepopulation increases, energy demand also increases. For the growth of economy energy plays
newlinean important role. The traditional energy sources are having some limitation and also by the
newlinerepetitive use of it may lead to the issues like global warming. Hence all over the world
newlinesociety is looking for alternative energy sources. In regards with it, solar energy is the biggest
newlineand alternative, renewable source available at such stated situation. However, there are also
newlinesome bottlenecks in harnessing this solar energy.
newlineIn industry, for the various heat and thermal applications solar energy can be used
newlinesuccessfully. At present situation this need is fulfilled by fuel oils which are dependent on
newlineneighborhood countries and also leading to create environmental impacts.
newlineThus there is a need to develop such alternative system which can be used to deliver water at
newlinehigh temperature while exhibiting higher efficiency.
newlineTo start research work under this domain exhaustive literature review is undertaken to know
newlinethe present situation and state of the art for solar technology. During this review attempts are
newlinemade to focus various methods, tools and techniques used by the previous researchers. The
newlineresearch findings or gap in the research are studied and problem statement along with
newlineprobable solution are stated as, to design and develop the solar cycloidal concentrating
newlinesystem using variable concentration ratio for enhancing the efficiency with higher
newlinetemperature difference.
newlineIntensity of the solar beam radiation at the line of focus is nothing but the concentration ratio.
newlineIntercept factor is the ratio of total amount of energy intercepted by the receiver to the total
newlineamount of energy incident on focal axis. In the present research the estimation of relationship
newlinebetween concentration ratio and intercept factor is also done which shows that there is need
newlineof optimization in between these two factors for achieving the higher temperature difference.
