Uniform and rapid seed germination is essential for achieving high-quality agricultural yields. newlineSeed priming, a simple, cost-effective, and eco-friendly pre-sowing technique, enhances seed newlinequality and promotes vigorous seedling growth. A study was conducted during 2024 25 at the newlineSeed Testing Laboratory, Department of Seed Science and Technology, Acharya Narendra newlineDeva University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Ayodhya (U.P.). The experiment newlineincluded seven Green gram varieties (IPM 409-4, IPM 312-20, IPM 410-3, IPM 512-1, IPM newline302-2, IPM 205-7, PDM 139, and IPM 02-3) and four priming treatments: control (untreated), newlinehydro-priming (soaking in distilled water for 8 hours), priming with Kinetin at150 ppm for 8 newlinehours, and priming with GAand#8323; at150 ppm for 8 hours. The design used was a factorial newlinecompletely randomized design with three replications. Results revealed that variety IPM 512 newline1 recorded the highest germination percentage (94.17%). However, variety IPM 409-4 showed newlinemaximum root length (14.16 cm), shoot length (15.85 cm), total seedling length (30.02 cm), newlineseedling vigour index-I (2845.33), and index-II (76.95). Among treatments, seed priming with newlineGAand#8323; at150 ppm (P4) significantly improved all growth parameters except speed of newlinegermination. It can be concluded that priming with GAand#8323; at150 ppm for 8 hours is the most newlineeffective treatment, and among the varieties, IPM 409-4 showed the highest seedling vigour. newline
