A Study on Women Entrepreneurs Engaged in Food Processing Units in Thiruvallur District of Tamilnadu

Abstract

Women entrepreneurs play a significant role in today s economy. Women shine in all the sectors like medicine, automobiles, education, manufacturing, politics and business. They are more efficient to compete with the male entrepreneurs in spite of facing many obstacles in their personal life. Women shape themselves in their personal as well as career growth. With respect to them, research was conducted on the topic A study on women entrepreneurs engaged in food processing units in Thiruvallur district of Tamilnadu . The present research signifies on the assessment of the situation of women entrepreneurs in India, the problems faced by them and the avenues for further growth, with special reference to food industry in Thiruvallur district of Tamilnadu. The first chapter of the research is structured into the main theme with the concept of entrepreneurship, women entrepreneurship and the history behind women entrepreneurship in India and the pavement for women empowerment in independent India. The chapter linked the processing of food processing industry in Tamilnadu and India. The study is undertaken in Thiruvallur district, the profile of the district and the promotion of women entrepreneurship in Thiruvallur district is explained. newline
