| dc.description.abstract | The early 20th century observed the split between the activities inside and outside the home, which made a major division between the sexes. Worldwide, specially in the developing countries, the society deliberately maintained the tradition: a woman s place is at home Jacob,(2004); Moore,(1999).Women still love to believe that their responsibilities are primarily towards household works, giving birth to children and raising them up. It is somehow true, though standing in this century, our society compels women not to think beyond this limit. It is in the buzz of consumerism that Indian women have been forced to come out of their homes. But with the introduction of education, advancement of technology and rapidly changing mind-set of generation-Y women are forced to rethink and move beyond the usual and to maintain social principles and integrity differently. Alongside, effect of globalization and various economic and social alterations in conditions act as optimistic catalyst for the change of the role and individual insight, Stedham and Yamamura, (2004). newline | |
