Investigation of spin dependent transport in organic semiconductors

Abstract

Organic Semiconductors (OSC) over the past decade have revolutionized the electronic industry. They are now used in Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLEDs), Organic photovoltaics, organic sensors, and organic field-effect transistors. The reasons why they have become popular include their easy fabrication on the flexible substrate, their low cost, and the ability to tune their electronic properties. In the spintronics field communities use OSC as the spacer layer in spinvalve devices. An OSC is a potential material in spintronics which is posses a long spin diffusion length due to its low spin-orbit coupling and hyperfine interaction. Organic spin valves are a fascinating area of research within the field of spintronics, where the spin of electrons, rather than their charge, is utilized for information processing. In this thesis, OSV was studied with three different OSCs such as P3HT, Rubrene, and HMPC. newline
