Crude Oil stocks and coal deposits which are the prime sources for the newlineproduction of polymers are rapidly decreasing due to over population and newlineincreasing demand for the use of polymeric materials. Consequently, the newlineresearch work on the use of natural renewable resources as alternatives to the newlineconventional petrochemicals for the synthesis of organic chemicals and newlinepolymers has recently gained considerable momentum. In the present study, newlineattempts have been made to utilise such natural agro based renewable newlineresources such as Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL) and Linseed Oil (LO) to newlinesynthesize biopolymers. Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL), a byand#8208; product of newlinecashew industries, has been used as a potential source of an excellent newlinemonomer containing an unsaturated aliphatic side chain and a phenolic group newlinein the benzene ring. Linseed Oil, a commercially important low cost renewable newlinematerial, has been modified and used as a source of a bioand#8208;monomer for the newlineproduction of cost effective polymeric materials with improved polymeric newlineproperties. newline
