dc.description.abstractInfilled frames have been established through the composite interplay of the surrounding planar frame and the infilling wall, designed for practical reasons under in-plane lateral loading. This interaction improves the in-plane lateral stiffness of the frame, which appears advantageous. Nonetheless, the interaction modifies the failure mode from ductile to brittle, which leads to a rise in base shear due to its larger stiffness compared to the bare frame. The detailed and comprehensive study of the literature reveals that most research focuses on rectangular and square frames, while investigations into trapezoidal infilled frames are notably limited. newlineThe main aim of this investigation is to study the behavior of trapezoidal frame which is bio-mimicked from flying insects. The investigation on the influence of different interface materials and openings in infill panel for trapezoidal frame is limited. Hence, the studies related to the different interface materials and openings in infill panel for trapezoidal infilled frame subjected to monotonic in-plane lateral loading was carried out. In addition, this investigation is carried out based on a comparative study of rectangular frame along with the parameters.
