Job stress, also known as occupational stress, which has been defined as the experience of negative emotional states such as frustration, worry, anxiety and depression attributed to work related factors. occupational stress takes place when job demands exceed the person s adaptive resources. Therefore stress refers to the temporary adaptation process that is accompanied by mental and physical symptoms, and is caused by a disturbance in the equilibrium between job demands and the ability of the worker to respond. Researchers (NIOSH, 2002; Levi, 2000) stated that the following activities which can lead to occupational stress at the work place. They are dealing with clients or the public, reorganizations and lack of job security, poor working conditions, threats of violence, harassment and bullying, lack of flexibility, lack of control over work, high demand in the job or high work load, monotonous or tedious work and lack of training. Researcher Ganster (2008), stress is defined as a set of environmental demands or set of physiological emotional reactions displayed by someone facing such environmental conditions . There are clear links between work-related stress and a variety of physical and mental disorders, despite the difficulty of proving a direct causal link since the majority of diseases and syndromes commonly attributed to stress have multiple causes. newline newline newline
