This thesis investigates the solute transportation process in Newtonian and non- newlineNewtonian fluid flows in the presence of boundary reactions across various geometries newlineand flow conditions. The primary goal is to thoroughly address the existing problems newlineof dispersion of solute in steady and oscillatory flows when it is injected, highlighting newlineapplications in environmental, industrial, and medical fields. The present research derives newlinethe analytical solutions for the dispersion coefficient, mean concentration, and transverse newlineconcentration distributions with the help of multi-scale homogenization up to a specific newlineapproximation, and interprets the results using the graphs. This work is structured newlineinto seven chapters, followed by a summary, conclusions, and a bibliography that tackles newlinepractical problems in fluid dynamics. newlineThe following is a summary of the main goals of each chapter: newlineThe thesis begins with a brief introduction to solute transport, including its basic newlineprinciples, the evolution of mass transport in existing research, and the flow dynamics newlinereviewed in this study. It also presents the analytical methods used and the structural newlineframework of the thesis. Furthermore, this section also highlights the reasons for the newlinestudy, emphasizing its importance and applicability. newlineIn the second chapter, the transverse concentration distribution of a passive contaminant newlinein an incompressible viscous fluid within a parallel plate device filled with an anisotropic newlineporous medium is studied using multi-scale homogenization. The analytical solutions for newlinethe dispersion coefficient, mean concentration, and transverse concentration up to the newlinethird order are derived. The analytical and numerical results are compared for accuracy. newlineThe study analyzes the effects of the Darcy number, relative viscosity, and anisotropy on newlinesolute dispersion. Findings show that transverse concentration in an anisotropic medium newlinevaries by up to 80% compared to isotropic conditions newline
