dc.description.abstractPostmodernism, morality, World War II effects of individuals and full of ideas and thoughts- these were the things that used to strike me as outstanding in the Novels of Michael Ondaatje. Reading his all is just like seeing a series of circumstances and War hoarer and his life sketched out in paper and ink. He was the voice of his times. Similarly Ondaatje s novels presents a deliberates panorama of Canadian people. His ideas and thoughts directed towards men sufferings from identity crises due to migration. newlineThis thesis focuses on the postmodernism in the Novels of Michael Ondaatje. The period or World War II is very struggling for people. People were migrated from their places. Postmodernism is a literary movement that eschews absolute meaning and instead emphasizes play, fragmentation, metafiction, and intertexuality. newlineMichael Ondaatje is a Sri- Lankan born Canadian poet, fiction writer, essayist, editor and filmmaker. He is a recipient of many awards such as the Governor General s Award, Giller Prize, and the Booker Prize newlineThis thesis discusses on five novels of Michael Ondaatje- The English Patient, Coming Through Slaughter, Anil s Ghost, Running in the Family, IN the Skin of a Lion. newlineIn the concluding part this work examines how postmodernism can be seen as the outcome of the social organization specific culture producing and culture- consuming gropes in contemporary society. newline
