| dc.description.abstract | Chennai, India, has an immense amount of waste dumping in the riverine belts of two main rivers, Cooum and Adayar: industrial waste, port operations and anthropogenic activity. Further several studies reported that the incomplete combustion in the open municipal dumpsite is a major source for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the developing countries.
